Microsoft Innovation Center has inaugurated by Mr. Raj Kataria (Director-Geo Expansion Microsoft, India) and Mr. Sanket Akerkar (Managing Director, South Asia, Microsoft, India) in June 2013 in our campus. The Microsoft Innovation Center and Ed-Vantage Program web sites are listed in below URL:
The center has been designed to enable students of the college to become aware of the latest technology and develop an innovative spirit.
Mr. Raj Kataria has stated that “The Microsoft Innovation Center provides technology areas such as mobiles apps development, cloud applications and other core technologies.
Mr. Akerkar said that Microsoft had various innovation centers around the world. There were 20 such centers in India. He also said, Microsoft team creates the right space for students for developing new applications. More than 750 million people are using Windows OS across the world. The Windows 10 was launched recently. But many have not started using it. Earlier version of Windows is still being used.
Dr. Dhruva Ghai, Dean has explained their vision and the path of success for students. He has also discussed about their planning for future as starting new startups from Microsoft Innovation Center. He even has explained “Internal competition and external collaboration will always offer challenges to the youth. The center will provide an ideal platform for developing applications and will help in bringing out innovative ideas and talents of the students,” he said.
Oriental University launched the MIC at varsity premises on 26th March, 2014 by Mr. Lokesh Mehra, Director- Education Advocacy at Microsoft Corporation India. The center will provide an ideal platform for developing applications and will help in bringing out innovative ideas and talents of the students. Keeping this vision, Oriental University, Indore has launched an on-campus MIC for the students.
The goals of MIC at Oriental University, Indore are to foster innovation and growth of students, to help the students to grow with industry Connections, to demonstrate the newest technologies and host tech events in the campus and to provide more opportunity to students to attend training from Microsoft Leaders to enhance their knowledge about cutting edge technology.
